  1. Polka-dot teapot - so cute!
And all this looks like you're drinking tea with Alice somewhere in the Wonderland :)

  2. Well, haven´t seen Alice lately :D but next time I have tea I´ll look out for her. I got the pot on a market and the lovely plate is from my grannie, she gave me twelve different flower plates+saucers+cups (which belonged to her since she is 20) when i moved in my flat :)

  3. Wow, so interesting! I adore such things with little (or sometimes not so little) histories)

  4. Yeah, I love vintage stuff as well, especially if it is from a person I actually know or have known. And my nan knows that I adore these old floral patterns so she gave this to me as a present. And I think she also likes that at least some young persons still appreciate these things from the past. I think when I decorate and prepare food and the sitting area for a party I´m a 70-year-old at heart :D it all looks like from a black and white movie then :D

    1. I'm sure your granny likes that, too :)
As for mine granny she has'not a lot of beautiful stuff (it was after-war period so I think she hadn't thought much of beautiful clothes or jewelry etc.). But I've got from her a bowl with a poppy flower (this is one of my favourite flowers) and silk dress of dark blue colour (I just have to alter it a little). And I set my eyes on her big wooden chest (I love it since my childhood) but it's to big for transportation unfortunately :(
But who adore tea things is my godmather :) I have a little collection of different cups and mugs mostly thanks to her :)

  5. That sounds nice :) i don´t have a godmother but i guess my nan and my great-grandma give enough presents already :)
oohh, and poppy flowers are nice, i once drove by a whole field of them (while travelling in the car wiv my grandparents) and it looked just stunning, such a mass of red colour (like ur nailpoilish) :) but i could never entirely adore them...don´t know, maybe because when I was little I used to read an old book of my mum ("The Wizard of Oz")and the protagonist a girl called Ellie fell asleep because of the poppies :D stupid, isn´t it!?
Oh, and I´m sure one day you´ll be able to transport the beautiful wooden chest of your grannie!
By the way, my nan doesn´t really have clothes and jewelry from her past left as well, but at least I get all the gorgeous china :) :) :)
oh, and I was on a night flea market lately and bought two old big cake plates(well, at least I intend to use them for cake) with a similar flowery pattern like the china from my granma. I think I´m gonna post about it soon, so u can see them :)

    1. Field of poppies - it's a heaven! I haven't see it in real life, only in the pictures :( They are just easily been destroyed by people who wants to have a picnic there or a photoshoots and so on. These things are good but poppies are so fragile flowers and people don't think about it at all.

Your story is funny, not stupid :) By the way, I read "The Wizard of Oz" when I was a child but I can't recall this moment. But I remember well that I loved this book :)
I have a story of my love to poppies. I fell in love with them when I had read a short story about them. The writer just described poppies but so beautifully that I looked at the upside then and fell in love with this flower :) And there was the other part, about poppies' field. I saw a children's film and there was a child - actually I don't remember it was she or he and I even didn't know that from the beginning of the film *lol* I just remember midlength wavy hair and angel's face :) But it doesn't matter. The main thing is that this child ran away from their nannies, found a field of poppies, drank the dew and slept there *lol* That was so sweet picture :)) So till that moment I wanted to see poppies' field too :)

Can't wait to see these cake plates!

    2. Actually I´m still not sure if it was the original Wizard of Oz (so maybe that´s why u can´t recall this bit) . . . at least not the version they´re so proud of in America I guess ´cause it´s a whole series of books about this girl Elli and only in the first part is she looking for that Wizard. Anyways, it were old books my mum used to read as a young girl and so I loved them, too (since I like old stuff in general how u already know :D)
See, so we are both a lil´forgetful :D u forget some things about your poppie-story as well :) and I like ur story . . . and ´til u see ur real field of poppies u can look at this (click on the link, I hope it´ll open up) http://view.stern.de/de/original/694651/Landschaft-Mecklenburg-Vorpommern-Mohnblumenfeld-100_5288_1-Blau-Makrofotografie.jpg

  6. Oh, I guess I've understood what books do you mean! Elly was in the story "The Magician of the Emerald City" (the name of the first book). There were four or five books in all. And I like them too :)

Amazing! And this mill on the horzon...this place seems perfect to me!)) Where is it? I'll go :D

  7. Oh yeah, that´s it... "The Magician of the Emerald City" ... I was never sure if it´s the same as "The Wizard of Oz" and maybe just another name and since nobody else ever knew the books when I was talking about them I started calling it "The Wizard of Oz"...but you are the first person (except from my mum of course...obviously, I mean, she gave me the books *lol*) to whom I mentioned them who actually knows them! And they´re all just great, yes! :)
Oh and the is taken (apparently to the source at least) in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. That´s located in Germany, think u can call it a state of Germany. So if u go find that place and are happen to be in Germany, come ´round and visit me :)
